On page 268, Towards the end of the 1st full paragraph: "Both in the discourse of the ordinary world and in the more precise language of the philosophical treatises the term 'experience' is recognized as meaning that which makes something directly evident; it is not understood in terms of being either a result or a cause."
If experience MAKES something directly evident, how is that not a cause? And if through experience, something is DIRECTLY EVIDENT, how it that not a result?
April 30th Geshe Dhargye La asked us to meditate upon shamelessness. I understand it to be an extreme position of ignorance about karma and dependent origination for a buddhist; or the Golden Rule of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" in theistic religions or atheism. This ignorance might be fueled by lack of self-love or self-respect because these traits must be acknowledged within before you can project/share them upon another.
